POLICE are investigating an alleged armed robbery of a Mildura man in which a taser was used.
Mildura police Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable John Coleman said a man aged in his early 20s was threatened with a taser when he entered a Macquarie Street house about 3am yesterday.
Sen-Constable Coleman said the 21-year-old property owner and another 21-year-old man at the house made demands for the victim’s wallet and mobile phone.
He said the victim left the house “in fear” after a taser was produced.
While nobody was injured during the incident, police have questioned both 21-year-old men.
Both were later released from custody.
Sen-Constable Coleman said the victim had left his phone and wallet at the scene, neither of which had yet been recovered.
He said the taser, a prohibited weapon, had not been seized yet.
Investigations into the incident continue.
