Two seriously injured in minibus crash on South Gippsland Highway

Initial reports suggested the minibus left the road, hit two parked cars and then crashed head-on into a tree off the highway at Tooradin about 2.50pm on Tuesday.

A woman in her 80s and a man in his 70s, understood to be travelling in the minibus, needed to be cut from the wreckage.

Both suffered significant chest and lower body injuries.

The man was airlifted the Royal Melbourne Hospital, while the woman was flown to The Alfred hospital.

Hospital spokeswomen said the man was in a stable condition, while the woman was in a serious but stable condition about 6.40pm.

Another woman, aged in her 50s, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with minor injuries. She was in a stable condition.

“She also suffered lower body injuries, but was in a stable condition,” the spokesman said.
